NEW YORK STATE & BERMUDA LIONS FOUNDATION YEARLY FUNDRAISER
2nd prize $5,000; 3rd prize $1,500; 4 prizes $1,000 and 5th through 9th $500.
The New York State Bermuda Lions Foundation, Inc., is the official project of New York State and Bermuda Lions Clubs, Multiple District 20, and is a non-profit corporation. Donated funds are disbursed as grants for humanitarian projects in local communities in conjunction with local Lions Clubs. The Foundation receives contributions from individual Lions, Lion Clubs, Corporations, other Foundations, and runs fund raising activities throughout the year. Since it's founding in 1992, the Foundation has approved more than US$ 218, 000 for service projects that have improved the quality of life in many communities in our Multiple. Our mission is to provide District-Wide support for worthy projects, which would otherwise be beyond the means of individual clubs or districts.
GRANT PROGRAM AND CATEGORIESThe New York State and Bermuda Lions Foundation, Inc. provides for these purposes in the following four categories:
Humanitarian Service:Humanitarian Service Grants may be issued for permanent communal programs or institutes, which satisfy humanitarian needs in harmony with the objectives of Lionism.
Vocational Assistance:Vocational Assistance Grants may be issued for programs meeting a broad range of educational and training programs, which provide a means for people to become self-supporting or to improve their economic and social well being. Funds shall not be granted directly to individuals for such purposes.
Operational Needs:Operational Grants will provide supplemental funding for day-to-day operational needs of supported activities.
Emergency Aid:Emeregrncy Grants may be approved by the President and Grant Committee of the Foundation in response to documented natural disasters, evidenced by significant mortality, may approve emergency Grants. Injuries. Emergency Grants are not to exceed $2500.
HOW TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR A GRANTA grant application form can be obtained from any Trustee and must be completed and endorsed by either a Trustee from the District that the sponsoring Lions Club resides in or the District Governor of that District. The Grant application must also have the certification of the Sub-District Cabinet, to be evidenced by the submission of the minutes of the meeting at which the application was certified. Forward all Grant applications with all supporting documentation to "New York State & Bermuda Lions Foundation, Inc., 1408 Lake Street, Elmira, NY 14901" for review and approval by the Board of Trustees of the Foundation. Grant proposals must be received by the Foundation at above address 60 days prior to the next Foundation Meeting.
